Kohala ‘Aina Harvest Festival Rocks!
D
ashiell Kuhr, Erika Shickle and the fine folks at Uluwehi Farm’s Hawaii Youth Agriculture Project put together a fabulous community event that was attended by over 100 people. The evening kicked off with Francis playing acoustic guitar and singing. There were mini workshops in banana propagation, natural farming, mycology and permaculture. Ramona was there from the Hawaii Farmer’s Union signing up youth farmers. Ethan and Leia of the Kava Kafe were on hand serving up Kava. The Peace Tribe was up from Puna to play music and the house was grooving! Special thanks to Ka Hana No’eau for use of the Kohala Intergenerational Center, to Richard and Natalie of Lokahi Farms for the casava donation, to the Peace Tribe, Joe Tingley for doing sound, and to all the crew at Uluwehi’s Hawaii Youth Ag Project for cooking, organizing and cleaning!
