Ohua o Na KiaiJoin us for a tour and tasting of three farms centered in the Historic Bond District of North Kohala:

ʻŌhua O Nā Kiaʻi No Nā Keiki O Ka ʻĀina (The Protectors For The Children Of The Land) are an inspiring group of Kohala volunteers who have successfully restored a network of  historic lo‘i with ties to King Kamehameha I.  In doing so, they are reviving kalo farming at ‘Iole.

HIP Agriculture’s GRACE Garden at ‘Iole features traditional Polynesian crops and is designed to serve Kohala’s youth and community as an educational demonstration site.

Risley Farms is a farm with a mission: “food for the body and food for the soul.”  The scenic and productive food gardens at Risley Farms reflect Peter Risley’s passion for providing the local community with access to the highest quality organic produce.

A $10 fee will be collected on the day of the tour.  Advance registration is required.  Click here to register, or call Karla at (808) 224-1404.

This Sustainable Saturday event is co-sponsored by North Kohala Eat Locally Grown & Sustainable Kohala.
